Overview

Ethan Silverman is an associate in the Bay Area office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP and a member of the Firm’s ESG & Impact Practice Group. Ethan’s practice focuses on counseling private equity firms, public and private companies, and other stakeholders on the dynamic and evolving legal and strategic issues related to sustainability, including environmental, social, and governance considerations.

Ethan works closely with clients to advise on ESG reporting and disclosures, industry- and company-tailored ESG due diligence, voluntary frameworks and coalitions, regulatory requirements, shareholder engagement, and anti-ESG pressures and legislation. Ethan also has experience advising on governance and structuring concerns related to alternative corporate forms and tax exempt organizations. Ethan’s ESG practice builds on prior experience representing private equity firms in mergers & acquisitions and fund formations as a part of the Firm’s Corporate Practice Group. Prior to joining the Firm, Ethan worked as a product manager at a healthcare technology company and founded a social enterprise financial service startup.
