North America Innovative Lawyers Report 2020
The Financial Times recognized Kirkland & Ellis as the winner in the “Practice of Law – Finance: Unlocking Capital” category in its 2020 North America Innovative Lawyers Report. The Firm was recognized for helping Macy’s obtain more than $4 billion of additional liquidity in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kirkland’s work to launch the COVID-19 Small Business Remote Legal Clinic, offering free legal consultations for small businesses affected by the pandemic, was acknowledged. - Most Innovative Individual Practitioner: David Nemecek
David was among 10 lawyers honored in this category, recognized for his work advising Macy’s on financing to obtain needed liquidity during the pandemic.
