Big Suits: AOL Time Warner v. Microsoft

Summary:

In January, AOL Time Warner Inc. filed a federal antitrust suit against Microsoft Corporation on behalf of AOL's Netscape Communications Corporation unit. The suit builds upon the government's long-running case against Microsoft and seeks potentially billions of dollars for the financial wounds sustained by Netscape as a result of Microsoft's software bundling and exclusionary pacts with PC makers. It also calls for an injunction against Microsoft to "prevent further antitrust injury to Netscape and to restore competition."

Kirkland partners Michael Becker, James Draughn, Jr., Jeffrey Rosen, Karen Natalie Walker, and associates Cara Tseng Duffield, Ryan Goode, Colin Kass, and Ryan Phair of the firm's Washington D.C. office represent AOL Time Warner, Inc.
