Litigator of the Week Runners-Up and Shout Outs

Partners Sandra Goldstein, Stefan Atkinson, Sierra Elizabeth, Dan Cellucci, George Hicks and Bob Allen were recognized as runners-up for The American Lawyer Litigation Daily's "Litigator of the Week" for their work for client Constellation Brands.

Sandra Goldstein and her team at Kirkland & Ellis this week got the Second Circuit to uphold their trial win for Constellation Brands in a dispute over whether the company’s Corona- and Modelo-branded hard seltzers violated its long-term licensing agreement with Grupo Modelo to produce “beer” in the U.S. under those trademarks. The Second Circuit agreed with the district court that the definition of “beer” in the agreement was ambiguous, upholding the lower court’s summary judgment ruling, and found that the jury instructions regarding contract interpretation were proper. Goldstein argued the appeal at the Second Circuit. The Kirkland team also includes Stefan Atkinson, Sierra Elizabeth, Dan Cellucci, George Hicks and Bob Allen."
