Daniel Perlman is a partner in the Real Estate Group in the Chicago office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Daniel has extensive experience in advising pension funds and their advisors, national developers and retailers, foreign institutions, public and private REITs as well as investment banks and hedge funds on real estate fund and venture formation, loan workouts, sales and purchases of distressed loans, securitized, conventional and mezzanine financings, commercial development, and commercial acquisitions and dispositions. He has represented sponsors of real estate investment funds and advised on sponsors' and investors' ERISA concerns as well as structured tax efficient investment vehicles. He has been lead counsel on some of the nation's highest profile developments. In addition, he advises on workouts, foreclosures and bankruptcies for both borrowers and lenders. He has experience in municipal and state incentive financings, joint venture equity investments and construction financings.
