Thomas Kuhns is the general counsel of Kirkland & Ellis. He has lead trial experience in the areas of antitrust, securities, environmental, patent/licensing, business competition, commodities trading, contract, federal banking enforcement and defective product cases. Thomas has jury trial, bench trial and dispositive motion practice in Fairbanks and Anchorage, Alaska; Wilmington, Delaware; Miami and Key West, Florida; Chicago, Illinois; Kansas City, Kansas; New Orleans and Franklinton, Louisiana; Minneapolis, Minnesota; Jackson, Mississippi; Kansas City, Missouri; Omaha, Nebraska; Newark, New Jersey; Tulsa, Oklahoma; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Rapid City, South Dakota; El Paso and Ft. Thomas is an Adjunct Professor of Law at Northwestern University School of Law, teaching a course in "Trial Advocacy, Evidence and Ethics." He was recently featured in The American Lawyer article, Cleaning Up The Bogalusa Pink Cloud for his successful litigation wins for Gaylord Container Corp.
