Overview

Joshua Kogan is a corporate partner in the New York office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. His practice regularly serves large and middle-market private equity/leverage buyout fund clients and their portfolio companies in connection with leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, mergers, venture capital/growth equity investments, and restructurings. Josh has broad experience counseling clients in a variety of industries, including consumer and retail, automotive, financial services, food & beverage, healthcare, industrials, technology, software, and telecommunications. Some of Josh’s clients include L Catterton, New Mountain Capital, Abry Partners, Blackstone Group, The Carlyle Group, Avista Capital Partners, Irving Place Capital, KPS Capital Partners, and Trilantic Capital Partners.

Josh was recognized by The Deal as a finalist for “Consumer, Retail, Food & Beverage Dealmaker of the Year” in 2022. He was recognized as a Top Mid Cap M&A Lawyer in North America by MergerLinks’ in 2021 and as a “Notable Practitioner” for M&A by IFLR1000 in 2022, 2021, 2020 and 2019. Josh was also recognized as an “Emerging Leader” by The M&A Advisor in 2016. He also serves on several Firm committees including, as co-chair of the Firmwide Associate Review Committee, Nonshare Partner and Associate Compensation Committee, the New York Office’s Recruiting Committee, and the New York Office’s Operations Committee.
