Professional Profile
Jason Wejnert is a partner in the Intellectual Property Group whose focus is patent litigation for industry-leading clients, managing all aspects of patent litigation cases from inception through trial. Jason has litigated and counseled on patent matters for companies of various sizes across a variety of complex technologies, including Internet protocols, telecommunications, wireless protocols (e.g. Wi-Fi, WiMAX, CDMA, Bluetooth), e-commerce software, computer software and hardware and database systems. Recently, Jason has been involved in high-stakes patent litigation matters involving fundamental Internet, optical switching, and wireless technologies.
In addition to litigating in district courts throughout the United States, Jason is a registered patent attorney and has experience relating to ex parte and inter partes reexamination proceedings, particularly as part of a comprehensive defense strategy while engaged in district court litigation. Jason also regularly counsels clients on the protection of intellectual property assets.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Jason gained first-hand experience as an engineer in leading edge technology for some of the world’s top technology companies, including Intel, Motorola, Boeing and Medtronic. Jason is also the author of published articles in scientific journals on nanotechnology and statistical modeling.

Cisco Systems & Motorola Solutions v. Innovatio — Currently defending suppliers of Internet wireless routing products in complex multi-district action concerning patents alleged to pertain to 802.11-standardized wireless technology.
Wi-LAN v. Intel, et al and Wi-LAN v. Motorola, et al — Defended world's leading suppliers of Wi-Fi, WiMAX, Bluetooth and CDMA products in litigations brought in the Eastern District of Texas and the Northern District of California, involving 20 patents asserted against more than three dozen leading laptop, router and chip companies. Matter settled favorably for clients days before trial.
Datatern v. Allstate, et al — Defended leading insurance company in patent litigation brought in the Eastern District of Texas involving patent alleged to pertain to database systems. Obtained settlement for client.
Global Patent Holdings v. Green Bay Packers, et al — Defended sports team in litigation brought in the Northern District of Illinois involving patent asserted against providers of Internet content. Matter was dismissed by plaintiff after an unfavorable re-examination outcome in the PTO.
