Recognized as a Leading Lawyer by Chambers USA, Martin Roth is a trial lawyer with a diverse practice spanning M&A disputes, partnership disputes, employment matters, privacy class actions and other complex commercial litigation across industries including sports, finance, tech, energy, aviation and healthcare. He has won trials for clients like BP, Sycamore Partners and Bixby Bridge Capital in state and federal courts and private arbitrations nationwide, and secured significant appellate victories for Datanyze, Kingswood Capital Management, Blackstone and Sun Capital Partners.

Named a Leading Global Cyber Lawyer by Lawdragon, Martin serves as lead counsel in numerous data breach and privacy-related class actions. His Seventh Circuit win on an issue of first impression under the Genetic Information Privacy Act was featured in The National Law Journal and recognized by The American Lawyer as “Litigator of the Week.”

Also recognized by The Legal 500 U.S. for M&A litigation, Martin secured a summary judgment win in a major deal dispute profiled by the New York Law Journal and acknowledged by The American Lawyer. He has led numerous post-M&A matters—purchase price adjustments, earnouts, valuation disputes, employment issues, trade secrets and other commercial disputes—for private equity sponsors and portfolio companies. Martin also leads the Firm’s transactional risk insurance claims team, which has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars for clients on Rep & Warranty insurance claims.

Martin has a growing sports litigation practice, representing franchises and athletes in high-stakes public and private disputes with very favorable results.
