ABA’s 29th Annual Intellectual Property Law Conference

The American Bar Association's 29th Annual Intellectual Property Law Conference will be held at the Crystal Gateway Marriott Hotel, 1700 Jefferson Davis Highway, Arlington, Virginia. The ABA IPL Section is the largest intellectual property law association in the world, with over 25,000 members. Its yearly conference is an opportunity for IP professionals to gain knowledge on the latest industry information and to obtain insight and ideas from IP experts and practitioners from around the world. This year’s conference includes sessions on “The U.S. Copyright Office: Updates on Policy, Programs & Practices,” “Shutting Down Rogue Websites: International & Domestic Solutions,” and “Are Trolls Really Out of Control? Reflections on Recent Efforts to Limit ‘Abusive Patent Litigation.’”

Kirkland intellectual property partners Dale Cendali and Claudia Ray will be speaking on "Hollow Remedies: Insufficient Relief under the Lanham Act" and "Best Practices in Brand Protection Strategy in the New gTLD Era," respectively. Intellectual property associate Joshua Simmons will be presenting "Promoting Progress in Social Media: Patentability & Copyrightability Issues."
