Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Awards for Investigative Reporting

Litigation partner Daniel Lombard and intellectual property partner Matthew Topic received special recognition at the Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Awards for Investigative Reporting, hosted by the Better Government (BGA), in Chicago. Daniel and Matthew began a pro bono relationship with the BGA as second-year associates by handling a small number of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) matters for the organization. Since then, the Kirkland group has grown to nearly 10 attorneys that represents the Better Government Association in many FOIA matters every year. In addition, Daniel and Matthew provide quarterly FOIA training sessions during the organization's "Citizen Watchdog" series and run free FOIA clinics.
