Paula Riedel Joins London Office of Kirkland & Ellis as Antitrust Partner

Kirkland & Ellis International LLP is pleased to announce that Paula Riedel will join the Firm’s London office as a partner in the Antitrust & Competition Practice Group.

“As one of the leading antitrust lawyers in Europe, we are delighted that Paula is joining our Firm,” said Jeffrey C. Hammes, Chairman of Kirkland’s Global Management Executive Committee. “Her arrival will strengthen our successful global M&A antitrust practice.”

Ms. Riedel represents clients on the full spectrum of antitrust requirements, in particular European Union, U.K. and multinational merger control, investigations, compliance and regulatory matters. Her sector experience includes FMCG, financial services, pharmaceuticals, mining, utilities and infrastructure. Ms. Riedel will join Kirkland from Linklaters LLP where she was the head of the London competition/antitrust group.

The announcement that Ms. Riedel will join Kirkland follows the October 2014 addition of antitrust and competition partner Ian John, who joined Kirkland’s New York office from Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.

Ms. Riedel was awarded First Class in her Law Society Finals from the College of Law and graduated from the University of Oxford with a First Class degree. She is recognized as a leading lawyer in Chambers Global, Chambers Europe and Chambers U.K., and is mentioned by The Legal 500 U.K
