Litigation Department of the Year — Finalist

In The American Lawyer's third Litigation Power Rankings, Kirkland was named the second most decorated law firm in the history of the publication's biennial "Litigation Department of the Year" contest. Kirkland's Litigation Practice Group was recognized as a finalist in 2016. The high-profile contest recognizes the nation's top litigation practices based on results over an 18 month period.

In its feature story about the competition, The American Lawyer noted that Kirkland's litigation group "slugged it out in court during long, complex trials and subsequent appeals, and struck heavy-duty settlements to get big corporations and institutions out of trouble."

The American Lawyer has recognized Kirkland as a winner, finalist or honorable mention in every Litigation Department of the Year contest since it began in 2002.
