Shubi Arora Joins Kirkland as a Corporate Partner in Houston
Kirkland & Ellis LLP is pleased to announce that Shubi Arora has joined the Firm as a corporate partner in its Houston office.
“Shubi is a skilled lawyer whose experience working with private equity sponsors and energy companies perfectly complements the lawyers in our Houston office,” said Jeffrey C. Hammes, Chairman of Kirkland’s Global Management Executive Committee. “He provides additional strength to our energy transactional practice at a time when our energy lawyers are in high demand.”
Mr. Arora focuses on M&A transactions, particularly in the energy sector. He advises large private equity sponsors and hedge funds in connection with their investments in energy-related areas. He has also spent time in-house in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, advising a sovereign wealth fund on structuring, executing and managing its investments. In addition to his experience with investment funds, he has extensive experience representing upstream and midstream energy companies in M&A transactions and joint ventures.
Kirkland’s Houston office currently includes over 100 attorneys focused on corporate, litigation, restructuring, tax and environmental work.

Mr. Arora joins Kirkland from the Houston office of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, where he was a partner.
He holds a J.D. from Vanderbilt University School of Law, and a B.A., cum laude, also from Vanderbilt University. He is the past president of the Houston Chapter of the Vanderbilt Alumni Association and a past council member of the International Law Section of the State Bar of Texas. He also speaks Hindi.
