Kirkland & Ellis LLP Named Law Firm of the Year by Chambers & Partners

Kirkland & Ellis LLP has been selected as "USA Law Firm of the Year" by Chambers & Partners, a highly respected international rating firm.   Kirkland was recognized for providing superior service in all of its practice areas.

The award was presented at the 2006 Chambers Global Awards ceremony in London on Nov. 16, 2006.   Runners-up were Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP; Greenberg Traurig LLP; Latham & Watkins LLP, Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP, Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP,  Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP & Affiliates, and Sullivan & Cromwell LLP.

The Chambers Global Awards Program is intended to honor excellence in legal services in jurisdictions around the world.   Finalists were determined by independent research carried out during the prior 12 months compiling the Chambers Global, USA and UK directories.  The winning firms were selected by a distinguished panel of judges made up of international corporate buyers of legal services.  Chambers & Partners publishes guides to lawyers and law firms that are relied upon by businesspeople worldwide.

Kirkland has been recognized numerous times by Chambers & Partners in the past.   In 2006, corporate partner Kevin Evanich was the recipient of the Award for Excellence in Private Equity.  The year before, partner Jack Levin received a Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to the same field.  In 2004, Chambers selected Kirkland as the USA Litigation Law Firm of the Year and in 2002 and 2003, the Firm took home honors for its private equity practice. In 2003, the Firm was selected as USA Private Equity Law Firm of the Year, and in 2002, Kirkland was chosen as Private Equity International Law Firm of the Year.
