Diversity Scorecard: In 2011 and 2012, Kirkland earned the highest score in the country among firms with more than 1,000 U.S. attorneys on The American Lawyer's Diversity Scorecard survey.

50 Best Law Firms for Women: In 2007 and 2012, Working Mother and Flex-Time Lawyers included Kirkland on their list of the 50 Best Law Firms for Women. In surveying firms for this list, Working Mother measured and assessed firms' representation of women in leadership roles, compensation and benefits, parental leave and flexibility policies, and programs to help train, retain and advance women. Overall treatment of female attorneys and staff was also evaluated.

HRC Award for Workplace Equality Innovation: In 2009, Kirkland was given the first-ever "Award for Workplace Equality Innovation" by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) - the nation's largest advocacy group for LGBT Americans. Law 360 Recognizes Kirkland's Commitment to the Advancement of Women Attorneys: Kirkland was the only American Lawyer A-List law firm to make the Top 25 on the recent Law 360 ranking of law firms with the highest concentration of female partners. The Firm ranked #23 on the list of all law firms with 100 or more lawyers and select boutique firms in the United States. Law 360 is "the newswire for business lawyers."

100 Percent Score on the HRC Corporate Equality Index (CEI): Kirkland received a 100 percent score on the Human Rights Campaign 2013 Corporate Equality Index survey. The CEI is a tool used by the HRC to rate companies on their treatment of LGBT employees, consumers, and clients. This was the sixth year in a row Kirkland received this honor.
On a regular basis the Firm publishes Diversity Digest, a Firmwide newsletter that describes various diversity initiatives undertaken by each of Kirkland's offices. The publication provides updates on Kirkland's diversity initiatives and commitments, publicizes upcoming diversity programs and sponsorships, and recognizes individual and institutional achievements related to diversity.
