Kirkland’s progressive benefits, services and programs help our attorneys balance the way they manage their work and careers to achieve personal and professional success.

Culture

Time Off Policy. Associates are not limited to a fixed number of vacation days. Instead, they are permitted and encouraged to take time off at their discretion.

Alternate Schedules. Attorneys may request an Alternative Work Schedule (AWS) to accommodate personal circumstances or life changes that call for flexibility. While on this schedule, attorneys do not sacrifice merit-based compensation or opportunities for professional growth.

Benefits

In addition to comprehensive medical, dental, vision, short- and long-term disability, life insurance, travel insurance and other benefits, Kirkland also offers:

Employee Assistance Program. Our Work/Life Service provides attorneys with access to specialists who assist with work/life matters, financial concerns, family issues and finding elder care assistance or child care services.

Domestic Partner Coverage. Domestic partners of Kirkland employees qualify for full medical, dental and vision insurance.

Global Fit. Employees enjoy negotiated rates at fitness centers across the country and savings on other healthy living products and programs.

Support for Parents

Parental and Adoption Leave.  All primary caregivers are eligible for at least 16 weeks of paid parental leave — whether the child is newly born or adopted. Non-primary caregivers receive 10 weeks paid leave. Leave can be used continuously or intermittently, and additional unpaid leave may be requested.

Backup Child Care. The Firm provides backup child care for employees with children between the ages of three months and 12 years, in the event their regular caregiver is not available.

Nursing Mothers Program. Nursing mothers can elect to receive personal consultations with certified lactation professionals and childbirth educators, attend prenatal breastfeeding classes and receive ongoing support. A nursing mothers’ room is available when the mother returns to work.

Parenting Link. The Parenting Link program provides a forum for Kirkland attorneys, their spouses and partners, and their clients to receive concise, practical information from parenting experts in an informal setting and to develop camaraderie with other parents with young children.
