Overview

Walter Lohmann is a retired partner, formerly head of and currently of counsel to the Firm's Environmental Transactional Practice Group. During Walt’s leadership the Group expanded to become the largest such group in the world.

Walt was recognized in Chambers USA, America's Leading Lawyers for Business every year from 2004 to 2017 and was recognized in 2012 as "the best transactional environmental lawyer out there." He was listed as a "leading lawyer" in the 2011-2016 editions of The Legal 500, U.S. Walt was distinguished as one of The Best Lawyers in America for 2013–2019 in the field of Environmental Law. Walt was also ranked as an Environmental MVP by Law360 in 2011.

Walt served as co-chair of Kirkland's Firmwide Diversity and Inclusion Committee for nine years. In his of counsel capacity, he continued to support Kirkland’s diversity and inclusion efforts, and those of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity for whom he serves as a Special Projects Coordinator.
