Marimichael Skubel regularly represents clients before the Federal Trade Commission, the Department of Justice, and State Attorneys General in a wide variety of antitrust and consumer protection matters. She advises clients on competition and consumer protection issues and litigates merger and anticompetitive practice cases. Ms. Skubel also regularly counsels clients on antitrust compliance and conducts training seminars. Industry experience includes branded consumer products, pharmaceuticals, medical services, chemicals, agricultural products, engineering and design software, oil and gas, paper products, and computer chips.Representative Matters

Metavante/Fidelity National: Represented Metavante in a merger that created one of the largest core processing and payment service providers to banks and financial institutions.
Colgate-Palmolive: Represented Colgate in a successful motion to dismiss a class action alleging conspiracy.
Dean Foods/Suiza: Represented Dean Foods in the merger of the first and second largest dairies creating a $10 billion firm.
Alias/Autodesk: Represented Alias in sale of animation software business to Autodesk, combining two of three industry firms.
Blue Ridge Paper Products: Represented Blue Ridge in its merger with its principal competitor of liquid packaging board and milk cartons.
Community Healthcare Systems (CHS)/Triad: Represented Triad in its $6.8 billion acquisition of Triad to create the largest publicly held hospital company in the United States.

FEDERAL/STATE ATTORNEYS GENERAL
Developed and maintained strong, cooperative relationships with state attorney general's antitrust offices throughout the country. Responsible for ensuring that federal and state antitrust enforcement efforts were harmonized to the greatest extent possible. Involved substantial and regular contact, including negotiations with state enforcement officials and giving presentations at conferences on federal/state cooperation.
REGIONAL OFFICES
Supervised all aspects of the antitrust work of FTC regional offices. These offices investigate mergers and potentially anticompetitive business practices in a multitude of industries nationwide, including health care, consumer products, supermarkets, Internet commerce, oil and gasoline, natural gas transportation, and agricultural products. Responsible for guiding investigations and litigation strategy; presenting regional office cases to Commissioners and their staff; and briefing Congressional Committees on regional office matters.
Senior attorney managing and conducting investigations and administrative and judicial litigation. Industries investigated include: supermarket, automotive, food manufacturing, pharmacy, flour milling, chemicals, and gas pipelines.
