Kirkland & Ellis International LLP opened its Munich office in January 2005. Kirkland's second location in Europe, the Munich office was opened to service both existing and prospective clients in Germany and across Europe.
With approximately 30 attorneys, our practice in Munich focuses on private equity and M&A, banking and finance, international tax, and financial restructuring. The Munich office also complements our U.S. and London practices in cross-border international transactions and cases.
Our Munich office has enjoyed tremendous success since it opened. In the 2006 edition of Chambers Global, publisher Chambers and Partners comments that Kirkland's Munich office has "earned a reputation…for its 'well-thought-through advice.'" Chambers further comments that "the firm can provide assistance 'on a worldwide basis' and sources were most struck by the talented individuals it has assembled in Germany. The group's portfolio of clients already consists of some of the top names in the U.S. and domestic private equity market…"
The attorneys in our Munich office, together with a core group of Kirkland attorneys who have relocated to Germany, are primarily German-qualified lawyers, fluent in both German and English.
