Amicus Brief in Support of Petitioners on the Petition for Review, Sac-Guarchaj v. Garland, No. 21-6288 (2d Cir. Dec. 20, 2021) — Co-authored amicus brief in support of reopening removal proceedings where the failure of the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement to provide the immigration courts with an undocumented migrant’s current address deprived that individual of notice and caused an in absentia removal order to be entered against her. Drawing on sworn declarations from seven legal services organizations, the brief describes this pervasive denial of due process to countless similarly situated individuals who are ordered removed without notice or opportunity to be heard.
Represented juvenile convicted of murder in connection with appeal of resentencing proceedings pursuant to Miller v. Alabama.
