Paul Guzman, et al. v. Polaris Industries Inc., et al. (C.D. Cal./9th Cir.): In this alleged state-wide class action alleging violations of California consumer protection statutes, represent Polaris; the district court granted summary judgment for Polaris and an appeal is pending.
MDL 2543: In re General Motors LLC Ignition Switch Litigation (S.D.N.Y.): Represent GM in this federal multidistrict litigation, and in state court and unfiled actions arising from GM’s recall of millions of vehicles during 2014; managed thousands of personal injury claims to successful litigation and settlement outcomes; with more than 100 consolidated class actions, obtained summary judgment for GM against bellwether class plaintiffs who alleged billions of dollars in economic loss damages; and negotiated and secured MDL Court final approval of a class settlement of a nationwide class of millions of consumers.
Riley Johannessohn, et al. v. Polaris Industries Inc., (D. Minn./8th Cir.): Represent Polaris in alleged nationwide and multi-state class actions alleging thermal defects in Polaris all-terrain vehicles; in 2021, the Eighth Circuit affirmed the federal district court’s denial of plaintiffs’ motion for class certification.
Depakote Product Liability Litig. (S.D. IL): In response to court request for separate settlement counsel, retained by AbbVie and secured successful settlement outcomes in claims to resolve product liability claims.
Arkee Chaney (IL pro bono matter): Obtained release of Illinois prisoner serving life in prison term through grant of clemency by Governor J.B. Pritzker.
United Methodist Church (D.C.): Working with mediator Ken Feinberg on a pro bono basis from July 2019 to January 2020, assisted Mr. Feinberg in reaching a proposed resolution of differing viewpoints within the United Methodist Church regarding the full participation of LGBTQ persons in the Church.

MDL 2179: In re Deepwater Horizon (E.D. La.): Represented BP in Deepwater Horizon oil spill marshalling wide array of experts for BP’s defense and served as a lead negotiator for the economic loss class action settlement encompassing business and individual economic loss claims, property damage claims and subsistence claims.
