Overview

Daniel Bond has successfully litigated numerous high profile lawsuits for blue chip clients in a variety of fields, including cruise lines, social media, medical devices and implants, sporting goods, telecommunication products and services, consumer electronics, internet marketing, clothing, promotional products, and professional services. His practice encompasses a wide range of intellectual property and complex civil litigation matters, with a particular focus on trademark, copyright, false advertising, contract, patent, Internet, trade secret, right of publicity, privacy, and tort law. He also has successfully litigated numerous class actions related to the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the Junk Fax Prevention Act.

Daniel’s experience extends to all stages of litigation, from drafting a complaint to receiving a jury verdict. His experience with motion practice extends to all stages of the litigation process, including seeking and defending against motions to dismiss and motions for summary judgment. He has a long track record of achieving early dismissals for his clients through the use of creative motions to dismiss and early, targeted discovery to facilitate prompt resolutions via negotiated settlements. He has extensive experience in managing all aspects of the discovery process, and has prosecuted discovery motions in both state and federal court. Daniel has also assisted clients in seeking expedited relief, including temporary restraining orders and preliminary injunctions. He has successfully argued motions to dismiss, class certification motions, summary judgment motions, and discovery motions before state and federal courts. He also has experience representing clients in alternative dispute resolution, including both mediation and arbitration.

Since 2015, Daniel has been selected by Leading Lawyers as an Emerging Lawyer in Illinois, an honor bestowed on the top two percent of lawyers who are 40 years old or younger or practicing law 10 years or less and have proven themselves professional, ethical and experienced at an early point in their legal career. Daniel also maintains an active pro bono practice, often representing non-profit organizations in trademark, copyright, and commercial litigation. Daniel was honored to receive a Kirkland & Ellis Pro Bono Service Award for Outstanding Service each year from 2009–2016.
