Gemma Edey is a regulatory associate in the London office of Kirkland & Ellis International LLP.
Gemma has experience advising alternative investment funds, fund managers, UCITS managers, and financial institutions across a variety of regulatory matters focusing on EU and UK financial regulation including AIFMD, UCITS Directive, MiFID II, MAR, UK FSMA, SFDR, EMIR and EMIR Refit.

Representative Matters
Prior to joining Kirkland, Gemma worked on the following matters:
Advising on the marketing, structuring, on-going maintenance, and closure of UCITS and AIFS.
Advising on the application of the UK Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, the Senior Managers and Certification Regime, the FCA Rules and EU single market legislation such as AIFMD, MiFID II and EMIR.
Advising asset managers on the impact of Brexit on their operations both in the UK and overseas.
Advising on ESG-related matters, including the EU Taxonomy and Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation.
Advising on regulatory perimeter issues under the Financial Services and Markets Act and the RAO.
Assisting with a change in control application and a close links filing following an acquisition.
