During his thirty years with Kirkland & Ellis LLP, litigation partner Scott Fowkes has served as trial and appellate counsel in a wide variety of complex litigation matters. Scott has represented a diverse group of clients in courts throughout the country, including AOL, BP, Brunswick, Conseco, Dow Corning, General Motors, GMAC/Ally, Morgan Stanley, SPX Corporation, Time Warner, USG, and Walgreens.
In addition to his legal practice, Scott has had leadership and volunteer roles with numerous community, charitable, and educational institutions, including Cornell University, Kenilworth Union Church, the I Have A Dream Foundation, the Posse Foundation, the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, Kohl Children’s Museum, the University of Michigan Law School, and the New Trier Educational Foundation.
In 2018, Scott received the Excellence In Pro Bono Service Award from the U.S. District Court for Northern District of Illinois and the Federal Bar Association.
In 2002, Scott was selected as one of "40 Illinois Attorneys Under 40 to Watch" by the publisher of the Chicago Lawyer and Chicago Daily Law Bulletin.
