Graduated with First Class Honours from the City University of Hong Kong in 2014, Jacky is an associate in the disputes resolution team in the Hong Kong office of Kirkland & Ellis. Jacky has significant experience of conducting international arbitrations, arbitration-related litigations and usual interim applications, including emergency arbitrations, injunctions and security for costs application, etc. These matters include substantial international arbitrations under the major institutional rules, including ICSID, HKIAC and ICC involving jurisdictions including Hong Kong, the PRC, the UK, India, Taiwan, Pakistan, and the USA. Clients include States, banking institutions, private equity funds and multi-national corporates. Recently, being a lead associate in a US$1 billion arbitration, Jacky prepared for and concluded two virtual hearings spanning across 12 days amid COVID-19.
Being passionate about the development of arbitration, Jacky is currently one of the editorial assistants for the Asian Dispute Review — a quarterly journal sponsored by the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (East Asia Branch), the Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators and the Hong Kong Mediation Council. Jacky was also the assistant editor in the CityU Law Review from 2012 to 2014. In addition, he also regularly publishes articles on dispute resolution.
Jacky is trilingual in English, Mandarin Chinese and Cantonese.
