Kevin Humphries is a partner in the Chicago office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. His practice focuses on advising private equity sponsors and private companies in connection with structuring and negotiating complex business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, secondary market initiatives and other strategic transactions and general corporate matters. Kevin also counsels clients with respect to the legal opportunities and challenges related to environmental, social and governance (ESG) considerations, sustainable investment and impact investing. Representative clients include Bain Capital, Bain Capital Double Impact, GTCR, Levine Leichtman Capital Partners, Thomas H. Lee Partners and Waud Capital Partners.
Prior to rejoining Kirkland in 2021, Kevin spent two years as Associate General Counsel for State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio, an $87 billion public pension fund, where he served as lead counsel to the alternative investments department.
