Nadia Karkar is a corporate partner in the San Francisco office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where she advises private equity sponsors and companies on a variety of corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, going private transactions, joint ventures and restructurings. She also counsels companies and not-for-profit organizations on a range of governance issues.
Prior to returning to the U.S. in 2015, Nadia worked in Melbourne, Australia for three years, most recently as the Chief Executive Officer of Kay & Burton, a high-end residential real estate firm, where she successfully implemented a comprehensive change management program which resulted in significant savings for the company, as well as the establishment of several new revenue streams. Prior to that, Nadia was an Associate Director at Hastings Funds Management, a specialist fund manager and leading provider of infrastructure debt and equity investment solutions to institutional investors, where she was responsible for the development of new infrastructure fund products globally. Nadia began her legal career in 2008 in the New York office of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, followed by stints in Hong Kong and Silicon Valley.
