Amber Kennedy is a corporate associate in the Bay Area office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Amber's practice focuses on domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and private equity, including advising private and publicly listed clients across the U.S., Australia, Europe and South East Asia on strategic restructuring and divestments, negotiated acquisitions, joint ventures, shareholder arrangements and minority investments. Amber has also worked with financial sponsors, sovereign wealth funds and investors across a broad range of corporate matters, including investment into distressed debt and special situation portfolios in South East Asia.
Apart from her M&A practice, Amber has a strong focus on pro bono work and has volunteered with a range of not-for-profit organizations, including as a volunteer lawyer in Justice Connect’s Women's Homelessness Prevention Project. Amber was also appointed as one of the first Australian ambassadors of the Youth Action Hub, being an initiative created at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development Youth Forum in Geneva in October 2018.
