Leonard Licht is a corporate associate in the New York office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP and a member of the Firm’s Investment Funds Practice Group. His multi-dimensional practice focuses primarily on advising sponsors and their principals on complex mergers and acquisitions, sales of minority interests (GP stakes sales), preferred equity investments, joint ventures, restructurings and other significant corporate matters relating to private equity firms. Leonard regularly advises management companies, general partners, founders and executives on governance and succession planning matters, upper tier arrangements and economic and carried interest programs. His concentration in M&A activity and strategic advisory at the sponsor level, which involves a blend of the Firm’s traditional M&A and Investment Funds practices, allows him to leverage both market-leading platforms and provide sophisticated intelligence and cutting-edge solutions for his clients’ benefit in a rapidly evolving market.

In addition to his broader corporate advisory practice, Leonard maintains an active fund formation practice, representing prominent large and middle-market sponsor clients in connection with the structuring, formation and operation of private investment funds across a broad spectrum of sectors, geographies and strategies, including buyout, growth equity, venture capital, distressed/special situations, credit, real estate and energy/infrastructure.
