Nick McCoy is a private funds associate in the Washington, D.C., office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Nick's practice focuses on advising sponsors of, and institutional investors in, open-ended and closed-ended private investment funds, co-investment programs, strategic partnerships and separately managed accounts, covering all major alternative investment strategies. He frequently advises sponsors and lead investors in connection with complex business transactions in the private funds secondary market, including portfolio sales, structured secondaries, stapled secondaries, fund recapitalizations and other liquidity solutions. Nick also focuses on investment fund formation, including advising fund sponsors, investors and other market participants on the organization, negotiation, structuring, and operations of investment funds. He also addresses internal governance and regulatory compliance issues for the sponsors of investment funds, particularly under the Investment Advisers Act.
