Megan New is a trial lawyer in Kirkland's Chicago office, where she focuses on complex intellectual property litigation covering a range of technologies, products, and industries. Megan has significant experience with Lanham Act cases, which includes securing favorable verdicts for her clients on trademark infringement and false advertising claims, obtaining temporary restraining orders, and successfully defending against preliminary injunctions. Megan was recently a critical member of a Kirkland trial team that obtained a $764 million jury verdict for the client in a closely-watched trade secret case. Megan also plays a key role in the firm’s patent infringement practice, where she focuses on patent damages and remedies. Megan has an active pro bono practice and has repeatedly been awarded with the firm’s pro bono service award.

Megan’s work has been featured in various publications, including Law360’s “Legal Lions” for her work on behalf of Dyson and Motorola Solutions. Her work on behalf of Motorola Solutions was also featured in The Am Law Litigation Daily’s “Litigator of the Week,” as well as reports from various outlets such as The New York Times and Bloomberg
