Overview

Ben O’Connor is a litigation associate in the Chicago office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP with a broad range of experience in both commercial and criminal litigation as well as white collar investigations. He has experience representing defendants and plaintiffs in class action lawsuits, multi-district litigation, actions for breach of contractual covenants, and shareholder litigation in federal and state courts throughout the country. Ben has also conducted investigations and advised clients related to government enforcement actions brought by the Department of Justice and other regulators and has served as a member of a federal monitor team. The clients that he has represented include multinational companies in wide-ranging industries, private equity funds and their portfolio companies, and individual criminal defendants. Throughout his time at Kirkland, Ben has also maintained an active pro bono practice, focusing on post-conviction relief for criminal defendants and enforcement of civil rights for prisoners.
