Chris Townsend is an investment funds partner in the London office of Kirkland & Ellis International LLP. His practice focuses on advising on the establishment and operation of a wide range of private investment funds, including private equity, private credit, real estate, infrastructure, renewables, secondaries and fund of funds.
In addition, he advises on the structure and terms of executive carried interest, co-investment and similar incentive arrangements and regularly represents institutional investors on their primary fund investment. He also has experience in spin-outs and secondaries transactions (including GP-led solutions, fund restructurings and portfolio sales).
Chris has represented, among others, Balderton Capital, BlackRock Inc., Brookfield Asset Management, Goldman Sachs, GIC, Glennmont Partners, Incus Capital, IDFC Infrastructure and OTPP.
