James Watson is a partner in the London office of the Firm’s Restructuring Practice Group. James has broad experience in domestic and cross-border restructuring and formal insolvency situations, advising the full spectrum of stakeholders including debtors, creditors (both banks and alternative capital providers, individually and as ad hoc or coordinating committees), sponsors and insolvency practitioners.
James also advises strategic investors on investments in special situations involving stressed and distressed businesses. In addition, he advises corporates and investors on commercial matters, including mitigating the risk and impact of counterparty insolvency.
James has completed client secondments with the restructuring team of a UK bank and at a leading credit fund.
James is recognised as a “Next Generation Partner” in The Legal 500 UK (2021).
