SEC Issues Flurry Of New Rules In Accordance With Sarbanes-Oxley Deadline

A substantial portion of Sarbanes-Oxley's reforms were explicitly to be effected through rulemaking by the SEC. Congress set tight deadlines for this rulemaking, one of which was January 26, 2003. This alert concerns the body of new rules adopted by the SEC in the weeks immediately prior to that date.
