Since joining Kirkland, Richard has been involved in the following matters:

• EQT on its c. $1.8 billion combination with Exeter Property Group, a leading global real estate investment manager.
• EQT in the formation of EQT Public Value Fund, an evergreen fund that makes minority investments in public companies in Northern Europe. 
• EQT on the sale of its Credit business to Bridgepoint.
• FFL Capital Partners V, a $917 million middle market buyout fund. 
• GreyLion in its spinout from Perella Weinberg Partners.
• Oaktree Capital Management in the GP-led structured secondary of its 2009 vintage Oaktree Principal Fund V LP and related fund entities, including the formation of new continuation funds managed by Oaktree and the related acquisition by the continuation funds of nine portfolio companies. As part of this transaction, Oaktree raised additional capital to make future follow-on investments in the nine companies.
• EQT in the formation of EQT Mid-Market Credit Fund II, a €2.3 billion Europe credit fund.
• EQT in the formation of EQT Credit Opportunities III, a €1.3 billion Europe credit opportunities fund.

Prior to joining Kirkland, Richard was involved in the following matters:

• Alinda Capital Partners in the formation of Alinda Infrastructure Fund II, a $4.1 billion infrastructure fund, and Alinda Infrastructure Fund I, a $3.0 billion infrastructure fund. 

• Brookfield Asset Managements in various Brazil-focused fundraising activities.

• Capital International in the formation of Capital International Private Equity Fund VI, a $3 billion global emerging markets fund.

• FFL Partners in the formation of FFL Capital Partners IV, a $2 billion North America buyout fund, and Friedman, Fleischer & Lowe Capital Partners III, a $1.5 billion North America buyout fund.

• HarbourVest Partners in various fund of funds fundraising activities.

• Oaktree Capital Management in the formation of Oaktree Opportunities Fund IX, a $5.1 billion global distressed debt fund, Oaktree Mezzanine Fund III, a $1.6 billion US mezzanine fund, and a $250 million real estate separate account.

• Och-Ziff Capital Management in the formation of Och-Ziff Real Estate Credit Fund, a $736 million U.S. real estate credit fund, Och-Ziff Real Estate Fund III, a $1.5 billion U.S. real estate fund, and Och-Ziff Real Estate Fund II, a $840 million U.S. real estate fund.

• Prudential Insurance Company in a $350 million separate account.

• Tishman Speyer Properties in various real estate fundraising activities, including Tishman Speyer Brazil Fund III, a $450 million Brazil real estate fund, and Tishman Speyer Brazil Fund II, a $124 million Brazil real estate fund.
