Jon-Micheal Wheat is a corporate partner in the Chicago office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Jon-Micheal’s practice primarily focuses on leveraged buyouts of public and private companies, strategic mergers and acquisitions, and growth equity and venture capital investments. Representative transactions have ranged in size from several million dollars to more than $10 billion and have covered a wide array of industries, including education, federal government contracting, healthcare, manufacturing and technology. His clients have included several prominent private equity funds, including CIVC Partners, Hellman & Friedman, Madison Dearborn Partners and Summit Partners, as well as several public and private companies, including BlueCat Networks, Boise Cascade Company, Healthline Media, Molson Coors Brewing Company and US Lumber Group. As a trusted adviser to these and other sophisticated clients with complex, multi-faceted issues, Jon-Micheal regularly assembles and leads diverse, inter-disciplinary teams of attorneys with a singular focus on tackling his clients’ most difficult legal challenges.
