Overview

Emma Lange-Novak is a partner in the Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity Practice Groups of Kirkland & Ellis LLP and a member of the Firm’s industry-leading Strategic GP Advisory Practice Group. She advises private equity sponsors, asset managers and investors on complex business transactions, including minority investment transactions, structured equity transactions, mergers, acquisitions, control sale transactions, seed and financing transactions, recapitalizations and restructurings, executive compensation and equity incentive arrangements.

As a member of the Strategic GP Advisory Practice Group, Emma has led representations of over 25 sponsors selling minority stakes to each of the significant investors in this rapidly evolving and developing space. She counsels sponsors covering a wide spectrum of sectors, geographies and strategies, such as buyout, credit, real estate, growth equity, infrastructure, secondary and venture. Emma regularly counsels the founders and senior investment professionals of leading private equity sponsors and asset managers in connection with complex equity ownership and incentive compensation arrangements, internal firm restructurings and firm institutionalization and succession planning arrangements.

In her M&A practice, Emma has represented publicly traded companies, private companies and private equity funds and their portfolio companies and led transactions ranging in size from $50 million dollars to over $10 billion, both domestically and in cross-border transactions.
