Overview

April Larkin is a corporate partner in the New York office of Kirkland & Ellis. She represents private equity firms and public and private companies in fundamental corporate transactions. Her practice primarily focuses on advising clients on mergers and acquisitions, minority investment transactions, joint ventures, structured equity transactions, liquidity events and seeding arrangements. Her practice frequently includes structuring complex incentive compensation and equity ownership arrangements for principals of investment management firms.

April has also advised private equity firms and their portfolio companies on strategic and leveraged acquisitions and divestitures, recapitalizations, executive compensation and incentive equity matters, as well as general corporate counseling and compliance. She has also advised private equity clients in the structure, formation, marketing, management and regulatory compliance of private equity funds, funds-of-funds and other investment vehicles, as well as the operational, legal and regulatory issues.

Previously, April represented institutional investors in connection with investments in private equity funds, hedge funds and other alternative vehicles, including the review and negotiation of investment documentation and side letters, as well as secondary transactions and co-investments. She also focused her practice on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance matters and general corporate law through representation of buyers and sellers in private M&A transactions.
