Advanced Copyright Law 2018: Current Issues

On March 15, 2018, Practising Law Institute (PLI) is hosting an all-day seminar titled “Advanced Copyright Law 2018: Current Issues.” Current developments will be explored in the context of developed law and proposals and prospects for future change. The program will cover the latest, increasingly complex, and critical issues of copyright law as it relates to new technologies and doing business.

Partner Joshua Simmons will be presenting Substantial Similarity: Do We Know It When We See It? The presentation will compare the treatment of different works under the substantial similarity analysis, including literary, dramatic, and visual works, as well as compilations and computer programs. Josh’s live presentation starts at 10:15 a.m., and a recording will be hosted on the PLI website later in the year.
