Largest Chapter 11s of 2013

In Turnarounds & Workouts’ annual report on the bankruptcy industry, Kirkland was featured for its work on five of the 15 largest Chapter 11 filings of 2013, the most of any firm.

Partner Marc Kieselstein was listed as debtor’s counsel to Maxcom Telecomunicaciones, which was the largest Chapter 11 filing of 2013 with $11.1 billion in assets; and Revel AC, which was the twelfth-largest filing with $1.1 billion in assets. Partner Jonathan Henes was listed as debtor’s counsel to Cengage Learning Acquisitions, the third-largest Chapter 11 filing with $4.1 billion in assets. Partner James Sprayregen was listed as debtor’s counsel to Dex One, the fourth-largest Chapter 11 filing with $2.8 billion in assets. Partner Richard Cieri was listed as debtor’s counsel to Longview Power, the eighth-largest Chapter 11 filing with $1.7 billion in assets.
