Global Legal Awards

The American Lawyer recognized Kirkland in connection with four awards, including one of four grand prizes, at its fourth annual Global Legal Awards. The awards honor the biggest and most distinguished international commercial legal matters. Kirkland was recognized for:

• “Global M&A Deal of the Year: China” for the LBO of Qihoo 360 Technology Co. Ltd.
• “Global M&A Deal of the Year: U.K.” for Molson Coors Brewing Co.’s purchase of SABMiller plc’s stake in MillerCoors, a part of Anheuser-Busch InBev NV’s acquisition of SABMiller, which was named "Global Corporate Deal of the Year."
• “Global M&A Deal of the Year: U.S.” for the acquisition of Baxalta Inc. by Shire plc.

Kirkland and other winners were recognized at the Global Legal Awards banquet in New York on September 26, 2016.
