Immigration Equality Safe Haven Award

Immigration Equality named Kirkland a 2017 Safe Haven Award winner. The award recognizes law firms that have gone above and beyond to win refuge for LGBT and HIV-positive asylum seekers. Kirkland also received the award in 2014, 2012 and 2010.

Kirkland has been running its Firmwide LGBT Asylum Project in partnership with Immigration Equality since 2009. Since then, more than 170 Kirkland lawyers and staff members have devoted more than 13,000 pro bono hours to LGBT asylum-related matters referred by Immigration Equality.
