Kirkland Represents Blackstone on Merger of Invitation Homes with Starwood Waypoint Homes

Kirkland & Ellis LLP advised Blackstone Group (NYSE:BX), one of the world’s leading investment firms, as the majority stockholder of Invitation Homes (NYSE: INVH), a leading owner and operator of single-family rental homes in the United States, in the agreement to combine Invitation Homes with Starwood Waypoint Homes (NYSE:SFR), one of the largest publicly traded owners and operators of single-family rental homes in the United States, in a 100 percent stock-for-stock merger-of-equals. The combined company will create the leading single-family rental company in the United States with 82,000 homes and an enterprise value of approximately $20 billion including debt. The transaction is expected to close by year-end, subject to approval by Starwood Waypoint Homes stockholders and other customary closing conditions. The full press release is available here.
