Kirkland Represents Strayer Education on $1.9 Billion Merger of Equals with Capella Education Company

Kirkland & Ellis LLP advised Strayer Education, Inc. (NASDAQ: STRA), an education services company, on its merger of equals with Capella Education Company (NASDAQ: CPLA), a leading educational services company, in an all-stock transaction with an implied equity value of approximately $1.9 billion. The combination will create a national leader in education innovation. The transaction is expected to close in the 3rd quarter of 2018, subject to customary closing conditions.
