Press Release

Kirkland Selected as a Yale Law Women Family Friendly Firm

Kirkland & Ellis LLP has been named as one of Yale Law Women's 2008 Top 10 Family Friendly Firms. Kirkland was one of 10 firms chosen out of 100 that completed a 35-question survey on topics such as parental leave, child care programs and leadership opportunities for women.

"We didn't just ask [firms] about their policies," said Yale Law Women's chair, Lauren Gerber. "We also asked what percent of the lawyers took advantage of each policy, to make sure that firms weren't just paying lip service to work-life balance. We wanted to see change in action."

The top 10 firms, in alphabetical order, are:

Arnold & Porter (Washington, DC)
Covington & Burling (Washington, DC)
Dorsey & Whitney (Minneapolis, MN)
Debevoise & Plimpton (New York, NY)
Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher (Los Angeles, CA)
Kirkland & Ellis (Chicago, IL)
Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel (New York, NY)
Mintz Levin Cohn Ferris Glovsky and Popeo (Boston, MA)
Perkins Coie (Seattle, WA)
WilmerHale (Boston, MA)

"We are honored to be named to this prestigious list," said Linda K. Myers, a corporate partner in Kirkland's Chicago office. "Kirkland is proud of our commitment to fostering a strong work-life balance, and we will continue to develop and maintain programs that support the families of our attorneys."
