Sprayregen Returning to Kirkland

James Sprayregen will return to Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where he was the senior partner in the Restructuring Practice Group until 2006. Mr. Sprayregen re-joins the Firm from investment firm Goldman Sachs Group Inc.

" 'I believe there's a pretty large round of restructurings coming down the pike, and I want to be part of that next round,' said Mr. Sprayregen, 48, who worked out of the Chicago office of New York-based Goldman.

Not that Kirkland has stood still in his absence. The number of lawyers focused on bankruptcy and restructuring work has grown 62%, to 107, over the past three years, 'and I expect it to get bigger,' says Richard Cieri, a partner in the firm's New York office who will team with Mr. Sprayregen to lead the restructuring practice."
