Pro Bono Partnerships

Kirkland has established strong relationships with many important public interest organizations and often partners with them to represent those in need.  They include such groups as the Alliance for Children's Rights; the Legal Assistance Foundation; Lambda Legal; Sanctuary for Families; the Legal Aid Foundation; Western Center on Law & Poverty; the Disability Rights Legal Center; and the National Immigrant Justice Center.

In addition to our longstanding dedication to pro bono legal service, Kirkland & Ellis has a deep commitment to public service.  One of the many ways in which this commitment manifests itself is through the number of Kirkland lawyers who serve on the boards of directors of legal service organizations, arts organizations, educational institutions and other charitable organizations.  Among other organizations, Kirkland lawyers have served on the boards of directors of the Appleseed Foundation; Business & Professional People for the Public Interest; Chicago Committee on Minorities in Large Law Firms; Coordinated Advice & Referral Program for Legal Services; Everybody Wins! Los Angeles; Housing Opportunities for Women; Jewish United Fund; Lambda Legal; the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights under Law; Lawyers for the Creative Arts; Mount Sinai Medical Institute Council; Public Counsel; the Public Interest Law Initiative; Steppenwolf Theatre Company; The Legal Aid Society; The Salvation Army; and University of Chicago Law School.
