Pro Bono Achievements

Letter from the Chairman

Pro bono work has always had a special place at Kirkland. Our attorneys participate in pro bono initiatives that make a real difference in peoples’ lives from the very start of their careers at the Firm. It’s important work, and we’re proud of it.

Each year, our Firm dedicates over 100,000 hours, investing substantial energy, talent and resources to pro bono initiatives across many significant areas.

The events of 2020 have made it even more evident just how critical these efforts are and have only strengthened our resolve to use our legal skills and resources to help. Kirkland lawyers have made racial equity and social justice concerns a top priority, provided free legal advice to small business owners facing economic hardship, and helped to form nonprofits contributing to the pandemic response.

We are united in our efforts to make a meaningful difference in many critical areas — including civil rights, criminal appeals, disability rights, discrimination cases, immigration, health and patient rights, education, and veterans’ benefits — with a common goal of serving the communities in which we live and work. Drawing from our diversity of backgrounds, strengths and experiences, we pursue these projects to foster a more equitable, inclusive world.

We invite you to learn more about some of our recent representations, and to partner with us on future initiatives to maximize the impact of this important work.
